We’ve introduced an affordable platform with advanced features for Holiday Makers and Guests to make their weekends alluring and adventurous.
Count on us via WhatsApp if you’ve questions. Chat With UsTrue, we all enjoy spending time curled under covers, watching movies, and keeping warm throughout the winter months. However, you would be shocked by how many advantages there are for children's physical and mental health by actually spending time outside, including in the winter.
But let's go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Winter is the best season for shaking off cabin fever, consuming Vitamin D, burning calories, and strengthening our mental health. Getting outdoors, even in cold weather, is much more effective than remaining indoors as long as children bundle up warm and stay healthy.
Prepare yourself!
It is important that you thoroughly prepare for spending time outside before venturing out during the season. Wear your children in weather-appropriate clothes. Layers are ideal so you can still pull a layer off if you get too wet. All-in-one waterproof suits are perfect for those who want to get locked in, and layers are good because you can always take a layer off if you get too warm. Bring lots of drinks, and we guarantee that snacks will be available at all times.
Investigate Wildlife Traces as a Wildlife Detective.
Winter would not preclude you from heading on a stroll through the woods. We may become nervous with sending our children to the same places over and over again, and we want to take them somewhere different and exciting. Even, having the same areas in various weather conditions is highly educational for youngsters. They will be able to see the change of the seasons firsthand.
Celebrate the Winter Solstice
The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Why not celebrate the change of the seasons with your friends or family?
Maybe hold a campfire in the backyard or at a nearby green space that allows it. Light candles, eat outside and build offering trees. During the holidays, children will forget about the items they ordered or the presents they got. They will never forget the memories they made when engaging in traditions like this.
You might also use the Winter Solstice to find a book and curl up under the covers for some reading time.
Make a bird feeder
Make a bird feeder for your children to teach them respect for nature and how animals live in the winter. Winter is an excellent time to do this, and there are many online guides and videos about how to build the perfect one for you. They mostly make use of products that you most likely already have at home. We find a perfect one by wrapping cardboard toilet rolls in peanut butter and then in birdseed so that the seed sticks to the peanut butter. Allow to dry completely before placing them over a branch in the garden. This is a perfect activity for kids, and it will also draw wildlife to your backyard.
When done, put the feeder in your garden in a location where it can be easily seen from a window, which is a perfect way to get kids interacting with the outside from the convenience, privacy, and warmth of the indoors.
You may even make a winter garland for birds and animals in the forests. Loop string through things such as seeded bread, dried fruit, popcorn, cereal, and so on. Then tether them outside.
Make Story Stones
Wrap up your clothes and go out to collect some stones. Allow children to choose stones that they are attracted to and find fascinating. What do their forms make you/them think of? You're bound to inspire a plot!
First, decide which characters you want to use in your plot. Will it be creatures from the woods? Insects and bugs? Anything will do, so it should be something your children are interested in. If you're stuck for ideas, try a story from your child's favorite movie, such as The Gruffalo. For the stones to function, there should be a variety of items, locations, and characters. Using a black Sharpie, trace the outline of each image onto the pebbles.
Then, using a fine brush, fill in the pictures with acrylic paint and put them aside to dry, or draw them in with more colored sharpies. To give the pebbles a cool glossy finish, apply a coat of varnish. You might also purchase a simple canvas bag or pouch, decorate it, and name it the story stones bag. Use a pencil to write on the cloth, or go over it with Sharpie. Decorate it as you may!
Finally, Have a Campfire!
Campfires are a beautiful way to make unforgettable memories of your family and a perfect way to stay warm outside during the winter months. It's one of our favorite ways to end the day, lying around a campfire eating delicious campfire-cooked food or toasting marshmallows and sharing stories. It's also good for children to spend time around a campfire and they can learn a lot at such a young age. Initially, just how to be healthy around a fire and have a campfire. Then there's the science of flames, as well as how to cook with it.
